JERSEY CITY, N.J (10/13/21) - Nikolaos Theoudoulidis scored two second half goals as the Kean University men's soccer team shutout New Jersey City University, 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Raonne Dias notched two assists for the Cougars who improve to 8-4-1 overall and 3-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Nick Linebaugh totaled 11 saves for the Gothic Knights who fall to 8-6-1 overall and 0-6 in the NJAC.
After a scoreless first half, in which the Cougars tallied only five shots, Theoudoulidis notched goals in the 56
th and 89
th minutes of the second half. Kean tallied the first goal when a Dias cross was headed back by a NJCU defender to the foot of the freshman who fired it home.
The second goal came when Dias dribbled up to the post and crossed the ball for the rookie. The ball squirted loose from the NJCU keeper which left a wide-open net.
Kean led on shots (21-5), shots on goal (13-1) and corner kicks (7-3).
Sadeiki Roberts tallied six shots, while Dias and Theoudoulidis recorded four shots apiece.
Dominic Ridge made one save in 90 minutes of work.
