UNION, N.J. (10/20/21) - Nikolaos Theoudoulidis scored and assisted on a goal as the Kean University men's soccer team shutout Rowan University, 2-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday evening.
Matt O'Shea scored the game-winner for the Cougars who improve to 9-4-1 overall and 4-3 in the NJAC.
James Weinberg made seven saves for the Profs who fall to 9-2-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the NJAC.
Kean tallied the first goal in the 27
th minute when O'Shea one-timed a Theoudoulidis pass into the back right corner for the 1-0 advantage. The Cougars maintained the 1-0 advantage into halftime leading 5-3 on shots.
In the second half, Kean added an insurance goal in the 59
th minute when
Santi Alzate played a cross to Theoudoulidis who deposited in the back of the net for the 2-0 advantage.
Kean edged Rowan on shots (14-9), shots on goal (9-4) and corner kicks (5-2).
Sadeiki Roberts tallied five shots, while Theoudoulidis recorded three.
Dominic Ridge made four saves in 90 minutes of work.
