UNION, N.J. (10/27/21) – Ja'Carra Jackson scored in the 65^th minute to lift the #5 Kean University field hockey team to a 1-0 overtime victory over Gwynedd-Mercy University on Senior Day.

Peyton Mann assisted on the game-winner for the Cougars who improve to 17-1 overall. Morgan Lawless made six saves for the Griffins who fall to 5-13 overall.

Kean led 22-0 on shots in regulation, but couldn't convert in the first four quarter's

In the extra session, Mann whacked a ball towards the cage, which Jackson tipped in for the game-winner.

The Cougars dominated on shots (25-2), shots on goal (12-1) and penalty corners (19-1).

Megan Keeney and Jordan Thompson both tallied five shots apiece. Jenna Flemings made one save in 65 minutes of work.

Before the game, Head Coach Leslie LaFronz and her staff honored seniors Arianna Villegas, Jackson, Lia DiPiazza, Mia Hernandez, Taylor Hutchins, Thompson, Keeney and Kayla Reardon.

Coach LaFronz and the Cougars will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 30^th, in Galloway, N.J. against the Ospreys of Stockton University at 1:00 p.m.
