Union, N.J. (11/16/21) – Shannon McCoy led all players with 23 points but it wasn't enough as Cabrini University pushed past the Kean University women's basketball team by the final of 64-49 on Tuesday evening in non-conference action.
McCoy finished with a double-double adding 10 rebounds as Kean falls to 1-4 on the season.
The Cougars took a quick 7-2 lead started by back-to-back buckets from Aniyah Moore and a trey from McCoy. Miranda Liebtag and Giana Rullo tied things up at seven-all and Rullo gave the Cavaliers the lead for good one possession later.
Cabrini pushed their lead to as many as 18 at the break with a three-pointer from Leila Collazo just before the intermission.
The Cougars were unable to overcome the deficit in the second half as Cabrini held strong to their double-digit lead with 12 players recording points in the contest.
Liebtag finished with a team-high 12 points while Ashley Tutzauer added 10.
Kean has one more non-conference game on tap before conference play opens next week. The Cougars travel to Brooklyn this Friday.
