Glassboro, N.J. (12/4/21) – Rowan University edged the Kean University women's basketball team by the final of 53-45 on Saturday afternoon in NJAC action.
After falling behind in the third quarter by as many as double digits, the Cougars (4-5, 2-1 NJAC) roared back and took their first lead of the second half with just over a minute to go in the contest on a jumper from Kayla Anderson (45-44). That would be as close as Kean would get as the Profs sealed the win down the stretch with a 9-0 run all on free throws to pick up the win.
The Cougars were led by Shannon McCoy (16 points, 14 rebounds, 4 steals) and Sarah Olivero (11 points). Anderson and Macy Seaman combined for 17 rebounds.
The Profs (3-4, 2-1 NJAC) received a game-high 20 points from Nicole Mallard.
Kean stays on the road and will face New Jersey City University on Wednesday.
