GALLOWAY, N.J. (3/11/21) – Kayla Thornton totaled seven kills and four digs as the Kean University women's volleyball team was swept by #21 Stockton University, 3-0 on Thursday evening.
Emily Sullivan posted a double-double with 34 assists, 13 digs and five kills for the Ospreys who remain unbeaten at 4-0 overall and 4-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Sedona Gaard totaled four kills and eight digs for the Cougars who fall to 1-2 overall and 1-2 in the NJAC.
The opening set saw Kean play close for the first six points, but Stockton used a 10-3 run to stretch their lead to 16-10 and pull away.
The middle set saw Kean play close for the first four points, before Stockton used a 14-4 run to stretch their lead out to 18-8.
The final set saw Kean play back and forth with Stockton. The Cougars even took a 13-11 lead after kills by Gaard,
Sian Seeger and
Ashley Smith. The Ospreys responded with a 14-3 run to take the set and the match.
Morgan Hall,
Kailey Fawns and Smith all tallied four kills apiece, while
Kylie Brua handed out 12 assists.
Amanda DeLio collected 10 digs.
