NEWARK, N.J. (3/23/21) – Jake Milnazik totaled 20 kills and posted a .484 hitting percentage as the Kean University men's volleyball team won their fourth straight match with a 3-1 victory over #9 Rutgers-Newark on Tuesday evening.
Ian Capp totaled 29 assists, 12 digs, nine kills and four aces for the Cougars who improve to 7-3 overall and 6-1 in the Continental Volleyball Conference. Andrew Zaleck finished with 20 kills for the Scarlet Raiders who fall to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the CVC.
After both sides took a set, Milnazik and
Jared Ray combined for nine kills and posted a match-high .375 hitting percentage in the 25-21 set three victory. The duo wasn't done yet as they combined for another 13 kills in the 25-23 set four victory. Milnazik tallied nine of his 20 kills in the final set, while Ray added another four as the Cougars scored their second top-10 victory against the Scarlet Raiders.
Ray finished with 14 kills and nine digs, while
Seth Russell totaled six kills and three blocks.
Maxwell Thompson totaled three kills and three blocks assists while
Derek Au collected 12 assists and four digs.
