Union, N.J. (3/24/21) – Rutgers-Camden used two second half goals to push past the Kean University women's soccer team on Wednesday night in driving rain conditions.
Neither team was able to generate much offense as the weather conditions played into the possession game.
Breana Winder was able to take advantage of a loose ball in front of the goal that was punched out after a defensive miscue. Winder fired the ball into the lower right for a 1-0 Scarlet Raptor (3-0, 3-0 NJAC) lead. Just over a minute later, Alexa D'Illio added insurance off a blocked shot and scrum in front of the goal.
Kean's Marissa Cook registered five saves on the night.
The Cougars (0-3-1, 0-3-1 NJAC) will now have some time off as their next two matches have been called off due to COVID pauses with each opponent. Updates regarding the NJAC tournament will be posted when available.
