17 Players Tally a Point as Men’s Lacrosse Cruises Past Rosemont

ROSEMONT, Pa. (4/10/21) – 17 different players tallied a point as the Kean University men's lacrosse team remained unbeaten after cruising past Rosemont College, 25-6 on Saturday afternoon.

Brady Moore and George Capria both tallied a hat-trick for the Cougars who remain unbeaten at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Brandon Krausse recorded a hat-trick for the Ravens who fall to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the CSAC.

The Cougars posted 19 goals in the first half, including 10 in the opening quarter, to take a commanding 19-2 lead at intermission. Moore and Capria both completed their hat-tricks in the opening quarter, while Kyle Ryder, Nicholas Moffa, Dean Gillette and Anthony Porter all tallied a goal as Kean held a 10-1 advantage.

The Cougars poured in nine more goals in the second quarter with scores by Gillette, Ryder, Porter, Connor Batjer, Dante Magliano, Noah Costanzo and Nick Fischetti. Batjer tallied three points on two goals and one assist, while Ryder totaled two points on a goal and an assist.

Kean downshifted in the second half with just six goals in the final 30 minutes. Cormac McCabe, Justin Regester, Matthew Schwartz, Michael Shapiro, and Costanzo all scored for the Cougars. Rosemont was able to get four goals back before the final horn sounded.

On faceoffs, Moffa tallied a new career-high with 22 faceoff victories on 26 attempts and collected five groundballs in the process. Dylan Pelago also went 3-for-4 on the afternoon.

On defense, Joseph McNulty recorded three groundballs, while Tyler Brookes totaled two groundballs and two caused turnovers. Trevor Foss, Joseph Di Iusto and Matt Palmieri all totaled a groundball and a caused turnover.

In goal, Thomas Francy, Devin Reppert, and Michael Yukas combined for 60 minutes between the pipes. Francy made nine saves and improve to 4-0 in net.

Head Coach Shelley Sheiner and the Cougars will return to action on Wednesday, Apr. 14th, hosting the Ospreys of Stockton University at 7:00 p.m.
