BRYN ATHYN, Pa. (4/24/21) – Brady Moore and
Dean Gillette combined for nine goals as the Kean University men's lacrosse team rolled to a 20-9 Colonial States Athletic Conference victory over Bryn Athyn College on Saturday afternoon.
Gillette totaled eight points on four goals and four assists for the Cougars who improve to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the CSAC. Jamal White notched four goals for the Lions who fall to 3-2 overall and 3-2 in the CSAC.
Kean tallied 10 goals in the first quarter, including five unanswered to start the game. Gillette scored two goals and handed out two assists, while
Kyle Ryder notched two goals for the Cougars who led 10-1 after 15 minutes of play.
Kean scored three more goals in the second with scores from
Connor Batjer, Moore and Gillette to hold a 13-2 advantage at halftime.
The second half saw Moore score three more times in the third as the Cougars extended their lead to 19-5.
Noah Costanzo notched the final goal of the afternoon for Kean with 9:09 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Lions got three goals back in the final five minutes, including two scores from White.
On faceoffs,
Max Stevens finished 16-for-19 with 10 groundballs, while
Nicholas Moffa went 10-for-12 with seven groundballs.
On defense,
Steven Thorne totaled six groundballs and a caused turnover, while
Matt Palmieri finished with three groundballs and a caused turnover.
In goal,
Thomas Francy,
Devin Reppert and
Michael Yukas combined for seven saves in 60 minutes.
