LA, PLUME, Pa. (9/14/21) – Eight different Cougars scored and
Lia DiPiazza tied a single game program record with four assists as the #5 Kean University field hockey team stretched its season winning streak to six games and 11 overall dating back to last spring with a 10-0 shutout victory over Keystone College on Tuesday evening.
Laura Stump and
Jorja Hibschman both tallied two goals and an assist for the Cougars who remain unbeaten at 6-0 overall.
Hannah Osbahr and
Casey Stratton combined for 14 saves for the Giants who fall to 4-2 overall.
Kean struck quickly scoring five goals in the first 12 minutes of the contest. DiPiazza scored and assisted on two goals, while Stump scored and assisted on a goal in the opening stanza.
Peyton Mann,
Jordan Thompson and Hibschman all scored in the opening quarter as well.
DiPiazza assisted on two more goals in the second, while Hibschman notched a goal and an assist as the Cougars led 8-0 at the break.
In the second half, Kean tallied a goal in each of the final two quarters with
Maddison Gonzales notching her first career goal in the 33
rd minute and
Krista O'Grady scoring on a penalty stroke in the 53
rd minute.
DiPiazza's four assist matches performances from
Krista LaMaina and
Chelsea Mann. LaMaina tallied four assists against Keuka on 9/12/15 and Castleton on 9/20/15, while Mann collected four assists against Wilson on 9/13/15.
Jenna Flemings improves to 6-0 in goal with three saves in 49:16.
