UNION, N.J. (9/21/21) – Jordan Thompson scored two first half goals as the #4 Kean University field hockey team extended its winning streak to 12 games and remained unbeaten with a 6-1 non-conference victory over DeSales University on Tuesday evening.

Megan Keeney,
Laura Stump and
Maddison Gonzales all notched a goal for the #4 Cougars who remain unbeaten at 7-0 overall.
Allie Ball scored for the Bulldogs who fall to 4-3 overall.
Kean tallied four goals in the opening half with Thompson notching a goal in each quarter. The graduate student scored in the opening minute, when she stole the ball from a defender and beat the goalkeeper one-on-one. The second goal of the half came in the 24
th minute as Thompson scored in close range off a goalkeeper save.
In between Thompson's two scores, Mann collected her seventh goal of the season, when the junior dribbled up the left side and scored at the post. Keeney capped off the first half scoring with a goal off a goalkeeper save.
After DSU scored in the third, Kean tallied two fourth quarter goals with Stump scoring in the 48
th minute and Gonzales scoring in the 60
th minute.
The Cougars lead the Bulldogs on shots (29-8), shots on goal (22-6) and penalty corners (14-4).
Thompson and
Lia DiPiazza both tallied seven shots apiece.
Jenna Flemings and
Belly Reynoso combined for four saves in 60 minutes of work.
