IMMACULATA, Pa. (9/23/21) – Jordan Thompson totaled five points on two goals and one assist as the #4 Kean University field hockey team extended its winning streak to 13 games with a 3-0 non-conference victory over Immaculata on Thursday evening.
Ja'Carra Jackson notched a goal for the Cougars who remain unbeaten at 8-0 overall.
Julia Levase made 13 saves for the Mighty Macs who fall to 3-6 overall.
Thompson tallied her first goal of the evening in the 20
th minute as she tapped home a
Laura Stump shot for the 1-0 lead. Despite outshooting the Macs 18-0 in the opening stanza, Kean maintained the slim 1-0 lead at intermission.
The Cougars added two insurance goals in the third quarter with Jackson notching her second goal of the season in the 38
th minute and Thompson collecting her second goal of the evening in the 45
th minute. Jackson scored after Thompson dribbled towards the cage and made a quick pass for the senior to deposit in the goal.
Thompson notched her second goal of the evening during a penalty corner situation.
Krista O'Grady inserted the ball to
Lia DiPiazza who made a quick pass to Thompson. Thompson shot a rocket passed the keeper for the score.
Kean held Immaculata stat less on shots (28-0), shots on goal (16-0) and corners (16-0).
Thompson tallied a game-high 13 shots.
