MADISON, N.J. (9/22/21) – Two first half goals helped the Kean University men's soccer team collect their fifth clean sheet of the season with a 2-0 shutout victory over Drew University on Wednesday afternoon.
Felix Pereyra and
Sadeiki Roberts both notched a goal for the Cougars who improve to 5-1-1 overall.
Christian Tyson tallied three shots apiece for the Rangers who fall to 2-4 overall.
Kean tallied both goals in the first 25 minutes with Pereyra scoring in the 17
th minute and Roberts scoring in the 23
rd minute. Pereyra scored with a header that was crossed in by
Shaq Bryan. Pereyra's shot was deflected by the keeper and the ball trickled in for the score. Roberts scored when
Raonne Dias redirected the ball to
Bend Alexandre who used a low cross that allowed the sophomore to finish at close range.
Drew held the advantage on shots (12-9) and shots on goal (6-3), while the Cougars led on corners (7-6).
Nikolaos Theoudoulidis led Kean with three shots, while
Amr Mahmoud earned his first victory in net with six saves in 90 minutes.
