MONTCLAIR, N.J. (9/23/21) – Anne Beckemeyer and
Kayla Thornton combined for 16 kills as the Kean University women's volleyball team was swept by Montclair State University in straight sets, 3-0 on Thursday evening,
Leah Higgins and
Carly Waterman combined for 24 kills as the Red Hawks improved to 5-7 overall and 2-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Beckemeyer and Thornton each tallied eight kills apiece for the Cougars who fall to 5-6 overall and, 2-1 in the NJAC.
Ashley Smith totaled five kills, while
Taylor Micheaux tallied four.
Gwen Hangey handed out 12 assists, while
Kylie Bura totaled eight. On defense,
Amanda DeLio totaled 14 digs, while
Sedona Gaard tallied nine and
Madi DeMartini totaled seven.
Kean hit .088 for the match, while MSU posted a .306 hitting percentage. The Cougars recorded 28 kills and 19 errors on 102 swings, while the Red Hawks tallied 40 kills and 10 errors on 98 swings.
