Wayne, N.J. (1/12/22) – The Kean University women's basketball team had four players in double digits in their 66-59 win over host William Paterson University on Wednesday evening.
The Cougars (8-5, 7-1 NJAC) used a late second quarter push to jump out to a double digit lead. Trailing by one with four minutes to go, Kean used a 14-2 run to close out the quarter and head into the break with a 43-32 lead. Brittany Graff and Shannon McCoy provided all the points in the span.
The Pioneers (7-5, 6-2 NJAC) chipped away and took the lead back once midway through the fourth quarter on a Precious Allah jumper (55-54), but the Cougars quickly took the lead back for good with a jumper from Macy Seaman.
Seaman finished one rebound shy of a double-double (12 points, nine rebounds). McCoy tallied her fifth double-double of the year with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Graff added 16 points and eight assists. Sarah Olivero rounded out the double-digit scoring with 13 points.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday when they are scheduled to take on Rutgers-Camden at home.
