Union, N.J. (1/15/22) – The Kean University women's basketball improved to 8-1 in conference play with a 69-54 win over Rutgers-Camden on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars (9-5, 8-1 NJAC) played every available player on the bench as four landed in double figures (Shannon McCoy-11, Brittany Graff-10, Shahd Badeer-10, and Macy Seaman-12).
Kean led wire-to-wire and by as many as 27 points with just over seven minutes to go in the contest. The Cougar bench poured in 34 points and the team finished with 52 points in the paint. Kean had a 52-39 advantage on the glass and added 26 points off turnovers.
Seaman finished the night with seven rebounds and three steals off the bench in 12 minutes of action while McCoy registered five rebounds, six assists and three steals in 29 minutes. Graff added five assists and three steals while Badeer brought down seven boards.
Jalissa Pitts had a game-high 24 points and seven steals for Rutgers-Camden (2-9, 1-8 NJAC).
The Cougars flip to the second half of the NJAC schedule and return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Montclair State for a 6 p.m. matchup.
