Union, N.J. (1/19/22) – The Kean University women's basketball team suffered their second NJAC loss of the season to host Montclair State University by the final of 54-39 on Wednesday evening.
The Cougars (9-6, 8-2 NJAC) could not get going offensively, shooting 19% for the game and 5% from behind the arc.
MSU (8-7, 6-4 NJAC) evened the season series as the NJAC scheduled turned over today.
Neither team found a rhythm early as they combined for 2-for-26 in the first 10 minutes of action and a 5-4 score after the first quarter. The Red Hawks were able to piece together some points in the second quarter and led 20-9 at the break. While evenly matched in the third stanza, MSU pulled away in the fourth quarter for the home court victory.
Shannon McCoy and Brittany Graff finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Kean hosts Rowan University this Saturday at 3 p.m.
