GLASSBORO, N.J. (10/25/22) – Gwen Hangey posted a double-double with 36 assists and 10 digs as the Kean University women's volleyball team locked up the third seed in the upcoming New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament despite a 3-1 loss to Rowan University on Tuesday evening.
Natalie Ogden finished with 13 kills and 12 digs for the Profs who improve to 21-4 overall and 8-0 in the NJAC.
Anne Beckemeyer totaled 10 kills for the Cougars who fall to 14-12 overall and 6-2 in the NJAC.
Kean posted a .200 hitting percentage in the 25-21 set one victory. Rowan was held to a .095 hitting percentage as the Cougars used a 9-3 run to extended their lead from 11-11 to 20-13.
Taylor Micheaux tallied three kills and Beckemeyer collected two during the run.
The Profs were efficient over the final three sets as they hit above of .300 and only allowed two errors apiece. In contrast, Kean struggled to hit better than .200 over the final three sets.
Micheaux totaled 13 kills, while
Aubre Adams posted eight kills. On defense,
Ashley Smith (16),
Sian Seeger (11) and Hangey (10) all notched double digit digs.
