Brooklyn, N.Y. (11/19/22) –The #3 New York University women's basketball team picked up a win by defeating Kean University by the final of 71-50 in non-conference action on Saturday evening.

Natalie Burns tallied 15 points for the Violets who remain unbeaten at 4-0 overall. Maya Edwards posted 10 points for the Cougars who fall to 2-2 overall.

The Violets led wire-to-wire and pushed their lead out to as many as 14 in the first quarter (17-3) on a layup from Pellecchia.  The Cougars battled throughout but were not able to bring the deficit back down to single digits from that point forward.

Shannon McCoy totaled eight points, while Brittany Graff, Shahd Badeer and Natalie Mileski each added seven.

Kean opens up NJAC play on Tuesday when they host William Paterson University at 6 p.m.
