UNION, N.J. (11/8/22) – Four players scored in double-figures as the Kean University men's basketball team rolled to an 83-52 victory over York College (NY) in their Season Opener on Tuesday evening.
Griffin Barker posted a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Cougars who improve to 1-0 overall. Terrell Fullerton totaled 15 points for the Cardinals who fall to 0-1 overall.
Kean exploded out of the gate from the opening tip as the Cougars went on an 18-4 run over the first 6:40 and shot 48.4% for the half. Barker tallied 14 points and
Letrell West added 11 as Kean maintained a comfortable lead into halftime at 46-26.
Heem Burno, who would finish with a triple-double on the evening, notched six rebounds, six assists, and three points by halftime.
In the second half, Burno added another seven points, six assists and five rebounds with no turnovers as the Cougars' dominant play helped them maintain a double-digit advantage for the rest of the contest.
West totaled 18 points and eight rebounds, while Burno tallied 10 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds.
Jailen Jamison came in off the bench to record 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
