UNION, N.J. (12/10/22) – JD Daniels tallied 27 points off the bench as the Kean University men's basketball team extended their unbeaten winning streak to 10 games with a 93-67 victory over New Jersey City University on Saturday afternoon.
Griffin Barker totaled 20 points and nine rebounds for the Cougars who remain unbeaten at 10-0 overall and 5-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Ryan Savoy notched 11 points for the Gothic Knights who fall to 5-4 overall and 2-3 in the NJAC.
Kean opened on a 14-7 run behind six points from Barker. The Cougars extended their lead to double-digits at 30-16 with 10:38 remaining as Daniels tallied 12 of his 20 first-half points during a 16-8 run. The senior continued his hot shooting with another nine points as Kean extended their lead to 39-18 with 4:19 remaining.
Jailen Jamison also provided a spark with four points, four steals, and three assists in just eight minutes of action. Kean held a 48-29 advantage at halftime.
The Cougars remained in the driver's seat during the second half as Barker poured in 14 points and grabbed seven boards. Kean shot 51.6% from the floor as the Cougars pushed their advantage to 30 with nine minutes remaining.
Letrell West totaled 12 points and five assists, while
Heem Burno tallied eight points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
Corey Thelisme notched six points, three blocks, two rebounds, and two assists, while Jamison finished with six points, five steals, and three assists.
