Ewing, N.J. (12/7/22) – The Kean University women's basketball team improved to 3-1 in conference play with a 41-37 win over host The College of New Jersey on Wednesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Neither team was able to find an offensive groove in the contest as almost four minutes went by before a point was scored in the contest. The Cougars found themselves in an 8-0 deficit with four minutes to go in the first quarter and had a double-digit hole to dig out of at the intermission (28-17).
But Kean (5-3) battled back and tied things up at 30-all on a layup from rookie Maya Edwards. A successful free throw gave the Cougars their first lead of the day.
The teams see-sawed down the stretch, but KU took the lead for good with 3:41 to go on a layup from Macy Seaman.

Edwards led all players with a game-high 15 points off the bench. Shahd Badeer collected a game-high 12 rebounds with four blocks. Shannon McCoy added eight points and eight rebounds in the win.
