UNION, N.J. (2/25/22) – Duncan Beilke and
Quincy Rooi combined for 26 kills as the Kean University men's volleyball team earned a non-conference victory over Regis College (Mass.), 3-1 on Friday evening.
Rooi tallied 12 kills and posted a .474 hitting percentage as the Cougars improve to 10-5 overall.
Joseph Perez finished with 12 kills for the Pride who fall to 6-8 overall.
Beilke and Rooi combined for eight of the Cougars 10 kills in the 25-19 set one victory. Kean traded the first 10 points, before finishing the set on a 15-9 run, including three kills from Rooi.
In set two, the Cougars posted a .367 hitting percentage in the 25-16 victory. Kean opened on a 15-4 run and never looked back as Beilke, Rooi and
Rajheem Meulens combined for 13 of the Cougars 16 kills.
After dropping set three and struggling through set four, Kean closed with a 13-9 run to take the match. An 11-4 mid set run sparked the Cougars from an 11-11 tie to a 22-15 advantage late.
Beilke totaled 14 kills and four digs, while Muelens totaled six kills.
Maxwell Thompson tallied three kills, five digs, and five block assists.
Zach Noll recorded 35 assists, eight digs and three block assists, while
Kevin Molina collected seven digs.
