GALLOWAY, N.J. (2/9/22) – Nate Lyles totaled 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocks as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest to first-place Stockton University, 72-49 on Wednesday evening.
Kadian Dawkins finished with 16 points, four rebounds and four assists for the Ospreys who improve to 19-4 overall and 13-3 in the NJAC.
Terrence Durham tallied eight points and three rebounds for the Cougars who fall to 13-8 overall and 8-8 in the NJAC.
Kean had a rough shooting night all around, finishing with 32.3% from the floor, 15.8% from downtown and 54.5 from the free-throw line. Despite opening the game on 4-for-17 shooting, Kean maintained an 11-9 deficit with 10:27 remaining. Stockton would close the half with a 19-8 run for a 33-20 halftime advantage.
Kean couldn't overcome the first half deficit as the Ospreys added to their halftime advantage with a 12-3 run that pushed Stockton's lead to 23 points. The Ospreys maintained a 20-point cushion for the rest of the game.
Letrell West totaled six points and five assists, while
Jailen Jamison and
Patrick Strzala each tallied four points apiece.
Danny Boscarino finished with five points, while
Jalen Hudgins recorded four.
