Mahwah, N.J. (4/15/22) – Dylan Taliaferro and Daniel Keenan combined for a three-hit shutout as the Kean University baseball team defeated Ramapo College, 3-0.
Taliaferro (6-0) tossed six innings allowing three singles and five walks with five strikeouts. Keenan recorded his fourth save of the year with three perfect innings.
The Cougars (24-6, 6-1 NJAC) got all the runs they would need in the sixth inning, taking advantage of three Roadrunner miscues with timely hitting and accurate sacrifices. Dylan Beyer collected an RBI single and Caleb Rodriguez had a key RBI sacrifice later in the frame. Beyer also had a key defensive play in the first inning, nailing the runner at the plate with a line drive throw from right field to an awaiting Josh Jackson to keep Ramapo off the board.
Kean scattered their hits between six players and added four stolen bases in the game.
The Cougars are back in action on Saturday when they host Rutgers-Newark for a twinbill beginning at 11:30 a.m.
