JERSEY CITY, N.J. (4/21/22) – Eliza Filus went 6-for-8 with three RBI's, three doubles and two runs scored over two games as the Kean University softball team swept New Jersey City University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference doubleheader on Thursday afternoon.

Filus finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while
Jenn Majorczak went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Karly Messina and
Gabriella Fredette each notched a hit in the victory.
Annabella Marino earned the decision in the circle, striking out six batters in 3 1/3 innings pitched.
After the Gothic Knights got on the scoreboard first, the Cougars answered with a Majorczak solo homerun to left center in the third which evened everything at 1-1.
Kean tallied three insurance runs in the fifth, including an RBI single from Filus and an RBI sacrifice fly from Messina.

Filus, Messina and
Sarah Zengel all went 3-for-4, while Fredette,
Paige Metz and
Isabella Polash each tallied a hit.
Marino struck out three batters in the complete game victory.
Kean tallied five runs over the first three innings, including two RBI doubles from Filus and RBI hits from Fredette, Messina and Zengel.
The Cougars added insurance runs in the seventh when Messina and Polash scored on defensive errors.
