WAYNE, N.J. (9/27/22) – Anne Beckemeyer totaled eight kills, four block assists, three digs and two aces as the Kean University women's volleyball team remained unbeaten in the New Jersey Athletic Conference with a 3-0 straight sets sweep of William Paterson University on Tuesday evening.
Taylor Micheaux tallied six kills and four digs for the Cougars who improve to 7-7 overall and 3-0 in the NJAC. Eliana Lamb finished with seven kills for the Pioneers who fall to 5-9 overall and 0-3 in the NJAC.
Kean and Paterson traded points with the Pioneers taking a three-point lead. The Cougars closed the set with a 13-5 run, including two aces and a kill from Beckemeyer.
In set two, both teams traded runs with the Pioneers holding a slim 19-18 advantage. Kean closed the set on a 7-2 run, including kills from Micheaux,
Julia Vacca, and
Bella Stem.
In set three, Beckemeyer tallied four kills and
Aubre Adams posted three as Kean recorded a .370 hitting percentage. The Cougars maintained a 17-15 lead, before an 8-2 run put everything to bed. Adams and Beckemeyer combined for four kills during the run.
Morgan Hall and Adams each posted five kills apiece, while
Ashley Smith totaled four kills.
Gwen Hangey and
Aspen O'Brien combined for 28 assists. On defense,
Sian Seeger collected 17 digs, while O'Brien totaled eight.

th, hosting the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark at 7:00 p.m.
