UNION, N.J. (9/3/2022) – Sekou Soumahoro notched a first half hat trick as the Kean University men's soccer team blanked Brooklyn College, 7-0 on the final day of the Tony Ochrimenko Classic.
Balla Diaite recorded two goals for the Cougars who improve to 2-0 overall. Dimitry Rustamov made eight saves for the Bulldogs who fall to 0-2 overall.
In the first half, Kean scored five goals, including one from
Santi Alzate, three from Soumahoro and one from
Lauron Dinho Marcellin.
Alzate opened the scoring on the evening with a goal in the fourth minute for the early 1-0 lead. Soumahoro followed Alzate by collecting six points on three goals in a span of six minute to propel the Cougars to a 5-0 halftime advantage.
In the second half, Diaite scored back-to-back goals to cap things off. The Junior scored in the 64
th minute and recorded a penalty kick goal in the 71
st minute.
Kean dominated the contest on shots (27-2), shots on goal (15-1) and corner kicks (10-2).
Marcellin tallied a game-high four shots, while Diaite, Alzate,
Erick Chicas,
Ilyas Jaber and Soumahoro all collected three apiece.
Dominic Ridge and
Amr Mahmoud combined for one saves in 90 minutes of work.
