Galloway, N.J. (1/11/23) – The Kean University women's basketball team got back on the right track with a 56-51 victory over host Stockton University on Wednesday night in NJAC action.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Cougars (7-8, 5-3 NJAC) used a good first half to take a 28-15 lead at the break. Stockton (8-7, 3-5 NJAC) was limited to just 7-of-34 in the first 20 minutes.
The Ospreys regrouped and made things close on several occasions in the second half with a big third quarter (22-12), but it wasn't enough to ever tie or retake the lead as Kean held on for the win.
Senior Shannon McCoy poured in 11 fourth quarter points to help solidify the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
McCoy had a game-high 24 points while playing 39 minutes. Macy Seaman added 10 points, four rebounds and four blocks while Brittany Graff added six points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals for an all-around night.
Adrianna Jennings also had a team-high 24 points for Stockton in the loss.
