NEW YORK, N.Y. (1/26/23) – Luke Frankenfield posted a double-double with 13 kills and 20 assists as the Kean University men's volleyball team dropped their 2023 season opener to Baruch College, 3-1 on Thursday evening.
Jack Centeno notched 18 kills for the Bearcats who improve to 3-1 overall.
Jack Freese tallied 12 kills for the Cougars who fall to 0-1 overall.
After dropping the opening set, Kean bounced back to take set two 27-25. The Cougars won despite a .086 hitting percentage and 12 errors. Kean sealed the set victory with a
Rajheem Meulens kill and a
Maxwell Thompson block.
The Cougars dropped the final two sets by identical 25-21 scores with the Bearcats hitting over .200 in each set.
Aidan Flinn and Meulens both notched nine kills apiece, while
Chris Mitchell totaled eight kills. On defense, Flinn and Mitchell both collected eight digs apiece, while Frankenfield finished with six.
