Union, N.J. (1/4/23) – The Kean University women's basketball team used a 33 point first quarter to propel them to a 93-47 win over Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
After trading baskets early, the Cougars (6-7, 4-2 NJAC) used a 14 point surge using a little over two minutes of action to take a double-digit lead, a lead they would not relinquish.
A trey from Jordyn Keating with under a minute to go before the break gave Kean their biggest lead of the contest in the first half (30 points) as the Cougars led 51-21at the intermission.
Kean then paced the offense in the second half, using all 18 players on the roster in the contest.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
The Cougars had four players finish in double figures as Macy Seaman led the way with 17 points, while adding seven rebounds in just 16 minutes of action. Shannon McCoy and Brittany Graff each had 15 points. McCoy contributed five rebounds, two assists and two steals while Graff recorded six steals, five assists and two rebounds. Both played half of the game. Keating rounded out the scoring with 11 points.
Jalissa Pitts had a team-high 17 points and six rebounds in the loss for the Scarlet Raptors (2-11, 0-6 NJAC).
