Waltham, Mass. (11/11/23) – The Kean University women's basketball team led wire-to-wire for their first win of the young season by defeating Wellesley College, 81-69 on Saturday afternoon in the Brandeis Judges Invitational.
Brittany Graff was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Kean jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first two and half minutes with five points from rookie Gissel Gamble. The Cougars jumped out to their largest lead of the first half in the waning seconds before the intermission with a layup from freshman Riley Ahrens (37-20).
The Cougars cruised in the second half and led by as many as 30 (66-36) early in the fourth quarter with a bucket from Sarah Weber.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Gamble finished with a game-high 24 points while Ahrens added 16 points. Graff ended the day with six points, seven assists and five steals.

Kean heads into the city to play Brooklyn College on Wednesday evening.
