WAYNE, N.J. (11/22/23) – Brittany Graff and Riley Ahrens combined for 30 points as the Kean University women's basketball team dropped their New Jersey Athletic Conference Opener to William Paterson University, 59-51 on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After a back and forth first quarter, the Cougars went on a 15-9 run in the second to push their advantage to double-digits just before halftime.
• Graff and Ahrens combined for eight points during the run.
• The Cougars opened the second half by pushing their lead to the largest of the game at 34-18.
• WPU ended the quarter on a 23-8 run to even the contest at 42-42 entering the fourth.
• In the fourth, Paterson pulled away after Kean went scoreless for the final 2:50.

INSIDE THE BOX

• Ahrens added nine rebounds and two steals.
• Macy Seaman finished with 10 rebounds and six points.
• Maya Edwards totaled six points and four rebounds
• Sarah Weber finished with 12 rebounds and six points.
