READING, Pa. (12/16/23) – D.J. Alicea and Mario Gunn combined for 26 points as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to Alvernia University, 67-59 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED!

• Despite holding an early 8-4 advantage, the Golden Wolves pulled away with a 32-11 run to take a double-digit lead into the locker room at halftime.
• Kean shot 24% from the floor, while not connecting on a shot from downtown in the opening stanza.
• The Cougars responded in the second stanza with a 33-20 run that cut the Golden Wolves advantage down to four at 59-55 with three minutes to play.
• Tyler Spencer and Gunn combined for 25 of the Cougars 33 points during the run.
• The final three minutes turned into a free throw contest as Alvernia went 8-for-10 from the line compared to just 4-for-4 for Kean.
