Union, N.J. (12/30/23) – The Kean University women's basketball team led wire-to-wire in a non-conference win over local Drew University by the final of 69-43.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Cougars (7-6) jumped out to an early 8-0 lead with four points from center Macy Seaman.
Six minutes into the contest, Kean pushed their lead out to double-digits for the first time with a three-pointer from Maya Edwards.
The Cougars held their largest lead of the first half at the break (33-18) as rookie Riley Ahrens finished off a three-point play.
Kean kept the momentum going in the second half and pushed the advantage out to 26 on three occasions in the fourth quarter, on their way to cruising to the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Edwards led all players with 17 points while adding seven rebounds. Seaman recorded a double-double with 10 points and 15 boards while blocking three shots. Gigi Gamble and Brittany Graff rounded out the double-digit scorers with 15 and 11 respectively.
Jamie Struble led the Rangers (4-7) with 14 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
