JERSEY CITY, N.J. (12/9/23) – Four starters scored in double figures as the Kean University men's basketball team (5-3, 4-1 NJAC) notched their third straight victory with an 80-69 victory over New Jersey City University (2-7, 1-4 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED!

• The first half was a back and forth track meet with both sides trading buckets
• Kean closed out the half on a 14-7 run to hold a 11-point lead just before halftime.
• D.J. Alicea poured in 15 first half points as the Cougars notched 17 of their 43 points off turnovers.
• Kean maintained their advantage throughout the second half.
• The Cougars opened with a 19-10 run that extended their lead to 62-42 with 14 minutes to play.
• NJCU never threatened the rest of the way as Kean held their double-digit lead for the rest of the game.
• JD Daniels and Brandon Upshaw combined for 23 second half points.
