MONTCLAIR, N.J. (2/11/23) – Jailen Jamison totaled 18 points, five assists and three steals as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest to Montclair State University, 82-81 on Saturday afternoon.
Steven Breeman totaled 23 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Red Hawks who improve to 20-4 overall and 15-3 in the NJAC.
Letrell West notched 15 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Cougars who fall to 17-7 overall and 10-7 overall.
First Half
- Kean led 37-33 at halftime.
- The Cougars shot 48.4% from the floor and 28.6% from downtown.
- MSU shot 34.4% from the floor and 23.5% from downtown.
- Montclair opened with a 12-6 run behind five points apiece from Keyon Pryce and Kieran Flanagan.
- Kean answered with a 13-7 run to take their first lead of the game at 19-18 with 9:35 remaining.
- After trading buckets, Kean took their largest lead of the half with an 8-0 run that pushed the advantage to 33-26 with 4:31 remaining.
- The Red Hawks erased their deficit with a 7-2 run over the next 90 seconds to even the game at 33-33.
- The Cougars closed on a 4-0 run with a Heem Burno layup and two Corey Thelisme free throws.

- Montclair outscored Kean, 49-44.
- The Red Hawks shot 63.0% from the floor and a 50.0% from downtown.
