UNION, N.J. (3/18/23) – Connor Batjer totaled seven points on five assists and two goals as the Kean University men's lacrosse team extended their unbeaten streak to six games with an 16-11 victory over Oberlin College on Saturday.
Dylan Johnson tallied four points on four goals for the Cougars who improve to 6-0 overall. Solomon Brennan and Jacob Starcke both notched four goals apiece for the Yeomen who fall to 4-2 overall.
First Half
- Kean and Oberlin traded goals throughout as the Cougars held multiple two goal advantages.
- Kean tallied three goals in the final three minutes; including two from Tommy Pellegrino to take a 9-6 lead into halftime.
- Johnson notched three goals, including one with 90 seconds remaining.
- Max Stevens went 14-for-17 with six groundballs from the X.
- Devin Reppert made seven saves.
Second Half
- The Cougars broke the game open in the third with a 6-1 run.
- Johnson, Hunter Jenkinson, Batjer, Anthony Porter, Cormac McCabe and Nick Thorne all scored for Kean as the Cougars led 15-7 entering the fourth.
- Oberlin closed the gap with four goals in the final quarter.
- Thorne notched the lone goal in the fourth.

- Thorne totaled three points on three goals.
- Pellegrino notched three points on two goals and one assist.
- Porter, Dante Magliano and Tyler Scott all recorded two points on one goal and one assist.
- Stevens finished 22-for-30 on faceoffs with 12 groundballs.
- Reppert tallied a career-high 21 saves.

- The 6-0 record is the best start to a season under Head Coach Shelley Sheiner and the program best start since the 1992 team, which Sheiner played on, started at 8-0.
Milestone Watch
- Today's victory puts Coach Sheiner at 206 career victories. Sheiner needs two wins to become the winningest coach in program history surpassing his mentor Hawley Waterman, who won 207 career games at Kean from 1970 to 1994.
