THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (3/22/23) – Dylan Johnson totaled three points on two goals and one assist as the Kean University men's lacrosse team had their seven-game winning streak snapped by Maritime College, 11-10 on Wednesday evening.
Parker Reilly notched four points on four goals for the Privateers who improve to 3-5 overall.
Nick Thorne tallied two points on two goals for the Cougars who fall to 7-1 overall.
First Half
- After an early Dante Magliano goal, the Cougars never led for the rest of the half despite holding an edge on shots and shots on goal.
- Maritime scored in bunches, including three straight in the first and three straight to end the half.
- Magliano, Johnson, and Thorne all notched first-half goals.
Second Half
- Kean played catch-up in the second half as well.
- The Cougars traded goals in the third and trailed by only two entering the fourth.
- In the fourth, Kean rallied behind goals from Thorne, Cormac McCabe, and Tommy Pellegrino to even everything at 10-10 with seven minutes remaining.
- Maritime scored the eventual game-winner two minutes later and the Cougars never found the equalizer with only four shots attempted in the final five minutes.
