Farmingdale, N.Y. (3/22/23) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team used a strong second half to push past host Farmingdale State, 9-7, Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Kylie Giordano netted the game's first two goals before the Rams knotted things up over a minute span between the first and second quarters on two person up goals.
Giordano put the Cougars on top again (3-2) but Farmingdale took the lead by one heading into the break.
The Rams took their largest lead (5-3) with the first goal of the third quarter before Kean responded with three straight from three different Cougars (Rosalee Lachner, Sam Murri and Lauren Pluta) to regain the lead.
Farmingdale tied things up one last time in the closing seconds of the third stanza before the Cougars again rolled off three straight, with two from Kat Palaia in the fourth quarter to take a lead they would not relinquish. The three goals came in a burst of 66 seconds.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Giordano finished with three goals and an assist while Amanda Brzoska added a goal and five draw controls.
