Men’s Volleyball Splits Tri-Match with Elizabethtown and Drew

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. (4/1/23) – Chris Mitchell totaled 20 kills as the Kean University men's volleyball team split a tri-match with host Elizabethtown College and Drew University on Saturday.

Elizabethtown 3 (13-12, 2-6 CVC), Kean 2 (12-13, 2-4 CVC)
  • Kean fell to Elizabethtown in a five set CVC match (19-25, 25-23, 25-17, 19-25, 11-15).
  • The Blue Jays tallied 60 kills and 18 errors on 139 swings.
  • The Cougars tallied 58 kills and 28 errors on 138 swings.
  • Etown posted a .302 hitting percentage.
  • Kean hit .217 for the match.
  • After dropping the opening set, the Cougars hit over .400 to capture sets two and three.
  • The Cougars hit negative in the set four loss, while the Blue Jays posted a match-high .421 percentage in the deciding set victory.
  • Jack Freese notched 14 kills and three blocks assists.
  • Rajheem Meulens totaled 11 kills and four digs.
  • Luke Frankenfield totaled 42 assists, 10 digs and two kills.
  • Cris Naranjo and David Flores both tallied double-digit digs.
Kean 3 (13-13), Drew 0 (9-18)
  • Kean swept Drew in straight sets (28-26,25-15, 25-21) for the third time this season.
  • The Cougars tallied 37 kills and 19 errors on 120 swings.
  • Kean posted a .150 hitting percentage.
  • Drew was held to a .024 percentage.
  • Mitchell totaled 11 kills and 11 digs.
  • Frankenfield posted a career-high 20 digs, 23 assists and six kills.
