Ewing, N.J. (4/15/23) – Fourth ranked The College of New Jersey defeated the Kean University women's lacrosse team, 14-2, on Saturday afternoon in NJAC action.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lions (11-2, 3-0 NJAC) scored first and Kean (3-9, 1-1 NJAC) answered less than a minute later to knot the game at one-all. Rosalee Lachner netted her 14th goal of the season with the tally.
TCNJ then rolled off five straight to close out the first quarter to take a 6-1 lead.
The Cougars scored first in the second quarter as Kylie Giordano netted her 23rd goal of the season early in the period.
The Lions again went on a scoring streak and recorded five more to take an 11-2 lead at the break.
TCNJ added three more in the third quarter before the game was called for lightning.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Nicole Peters made 12 saves in the loss for Kean.
Morgan Vaccaro led TCNJ with four goals in the win.
