UNION, N.J. (4/26/23) – Devin Reppert made 18 saves as the Kean University men's lacrosse team dropped their regular season home finale to Montclair State University, 12-8 on Wednesday evening.
Ryan Vierbuchen totaled nine points on six goals and three assists for the Red Hawks who improve to 9-7 overall and 2-3 in the Coastal Lacrosse Conference.
Dylan Johnson finished with four points on three goals and one assist for the Cougars who fall to 10-5 overall and 0-3 in the CLC.
First Half
- Montclair State sandwiched in five goals between Tommy Pellegrino score to open the game and Johnson's score to end the half.
- Five different Red Hawks scored as MSU held a 5-2 advantage at halftime.
Second Half
- After MSU notched three straight in the third, Johnson closed the quarter with a goal right before the buzzer.
- Back-to-Back goals pushed Montclair's lead to 10-3 with 11:52 remaining.
- Kean answered with five straight goals, including two from Nick Thorne to cut the deficit down to 10-8 with 5:41 remaining.
- Johnson, Connor Batjer, and Kenny Yeager all notched goals during the run.
- Vierbuchen added two insurance goals in the final five minutes to seal the victory for MSU.

- Thorne finished with three points on two goals and one assist.
- Batjer notched two points on a goal and an assist.
- Anthony Porter and Hunter Jenkinson both recorded an assist.
- Steven Thorne totaled five groundballs and one caused turnover.
