Union, N.J. (4/8/23) – The Kean University men's lacrosse topped Penn College by the final of 17-10 on Saturday afternoon in their last non-conference contest of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Wildcats scratched across the first goal of the day from Sam Hills five and a half minutes into the first quarter.
The Cougars (10-2) then rolled off three straight to take a lead they would not relinquish.
Kean poured it on and scored six straight while racking up 12 first half goals and a 12-4 lead at the break.
The Cougars led by as many as 11 (16-5) before the Wildcats (9-4) rolled off five consecutive in the fourth quarter.
Dylan Johnson broke up the run with his fourth goal of the day to close out the scoring.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Nick Thorne and Johnson each had four goals for Kean for game-highs. Thorne added three assists.
Anthony Porter closed out the day with one goal and five assists with three groundballs.
Hills led Penn with two goals in the loss.
