BUENA VISTA, Va. (4/8/23) – Brandon Millias totaled six kills as the Kean University men's volleyball team was swept by #8 Southern Virginia University, 3-0 in their regular season finale on Saturday afternoon.

Christian Sheaffer notched 16 kills and a .667 hitting percentage for the Knights who finish the regular season at 18-2 overall and 8-1 in the Continental Volleyball Conference. Rajheem Meulens tallied five kills for the Cougars who finish the regular season at 14-14 overall and 3-5 in the CVC.

First Set

• SVU won 25-20.
• The Knights posted a .484 hitting percentage, while the Cougars hit .222.
• The set saw nine ties and three lead changes.
• Kean went back and forth with the Knights for the first 12 points.
• SVU pulled away with a 13-7 run.  

Second Set

• SVU won 25-16.
• The Knights hit a match-high .500, while the Cougars were held to a .097 percentage.
• SVU opened on a 12-4 run, behind three kills from Sheaffer.
• The Knights eventually extended their lead to 16-6 and maintained a double-digit advantage for the rest of the set.

Third Set

• SVU won 25-15.
• The Knights posted a .407 percentage, while holding the Cougars to a .032 percentage.
• Just like in set two, SVU opened on an 11-3 run and eventually extended their lead to double digits at 17-7.

Inside the Box

• Maxwell Thompson totaled four kills.
• Chris Mitchell notched three kills.
• Luke Frankenfield tallied 18 assists, seven digs and two kills.
• Cris Naranjo collected 10 digs.

Head Coach Bez Arslani and the Cougars will return to action in Arlington, Va. on Tuesday, Apr. 11^th, against the Saints of Marymount University in the first round of the CVC playoffs.
