GALLOWAY, N.J. (9/2/23) – Lianna Quezeda and Anabel Makutonin each tallied a goal as the Kean University women's soccer team (0-2) dropped a 4-2 decision to Methodist University (1-1) at the Stockton Classic on Saturday afternoon.

How it happened

• Methodist scored twice over the first 32 minutes to lead 2-0.
• Kean responded just before halftime as Quezeda scored with a right footed shot in the top half and the Cougars trailed 2-1 at halftime.
• Methodist went ahead 3-1 on a second goal from Yaneli Sanchez in the 52^nd minute.
• The Cougars found the back of the net in the second half, when Makutonin scored off a save from a Kaydence Oakley shot.
• Sanchez would notch her second goal of the half and put the Monarchs up 4-2 in the 82nd minute.

• Kelly Zambrana and Sonya Brewer both recorded three shots apiece.
• Rebecca Zahner and Sophia Lang both tallied a shot.
• Abigail Wing made seven saves.
