UNION, N.J. (1/24/24) – Luke Frankenfield posted a triple-double with 14 kills, 29 assists and 11 digs as the Kean University men's volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory in their New Jersey Athletic Conference opener on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!

• The Cougars captured the first two sets by identical 25-20 scores.
• Kean hit over .250 in both sets, including a .467 percentage in the second set victory.
• Frankenfield and Chris Mitchell also combined for 11 kills in the second stanza.
• The third set proved to be a dogfight with 12 ties and six lead changes.
• The Gothic Knights took the set in extra play despite only hitting .179
• Mitchell added another six kills in the set three loss.
• The final set was another back and forth affair with eight ties and four lead changes.
• Kean closed the match on a 15-6 run, including four straight points down the stretch.
• Frankenfield added another five kills in the final set.

INSIDE THE BOX

• Frankenfield hit .565 and tied his career-high for kills.
• Mitchell totaled 16 kills.
