ELMIRA, N.Y. (1/27/24) – Luke Frakenfield notched his 1000^th career assist as the Kean University men's volleyball team split matches with Elmira College and Hobart College at the Elmira Invitational on Saturday.  

Kean 3, Elmira 0

• Line Score: 25-23, 25-23, 25-22
• Kean recorded 44 kills and 18 errors on 101 swings.
• Elmira notched 41 kills and 19 errors on 97 swings.
• The Cougars hit .257.
• The Soaring Eagles posted a .227 hitting percentage for the match.
• Frankenfield collected his 1000^th assist in the opening set victory when the grad student connected with Chris Mitchell as Kean trailed 12-11.
• The Cougars trailed late in all three sets before using runs to close it out.
• Frankenfield finished with 23 assists, along with eight kills
• Rajheem Meulens posted 11 kills.
• Jack Freese totaled 10 kills and four block assists.
• David Flores handed out 18 assists.  
• Tyler Quinn and Mitchell collected eight digs apiece.

Hobart 3, Kean 1

• Line Score: 25-22, 17-25, 19-25, 18-25
• Hobart totaled 56 kills and 18 errors on 100 swings.
• Kean notched 34 kills and 23 errors on 89 swings.
• The Statesman hit .380.
• The Cougars recorded a .124 hitting percentage for the match.
• Frankenfield and Ryan DiCandilo both notched three kills apiece as the Cougars hit .310 in a close 25-22 set one victory.
• Hobart swept the final three sets as Kean had no answer for the regaining AVCA National Player of the Year in Andrew Kim, who finished with 31 kills and a .480 hitting percentage.
• Kim and Daniel Sappia combined for 48 of Hobart's 56 kills.
• Mitchell totaled nine kills.
• Freese posted seven kills.
• Frankenfield notched 20 assists and six kills.
• Flores handed out 12 assists.
• Quinn collected nine digs.
