EWING, N.J (1/31/24) – D.J. Alicea finished with 27 points as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest to the College of New Jersey, 80-76 in overtime on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!

• JD Daniels scored six of the Cougars first 11 points as Kean opened on an 11-5 run.
• The lead would get no bigger than five for the rest of the half as TCNJ knocked in two free throws for a 36-34 lead at halftime.
• Alicea notched 13 of his 26 points in the opening stanza.
• The second half saw both sides' trade buckets.
• The Lions used a 10-3 run to push their lead to 67-61 with 4:37 remaining.
• Kean answered with an 8-3 run which put the Cougars back in front at 69-67 with 55 seconds.
• TCNJ hit two free throws with 41 seconds remaining to force overtime.
• In overtime, the Lions opened on a 6-0 run before four straight Alicea points pulled Kean to within two at 75-73.
• Tyler Spencer connected on a triple with 17 seconds remaining before TCNJ salted away the game from the line.
